Is there any point to learning to code at 28
Yes, I think so.
I think the key is to identify which language is in high demand from the job boards and then
focus on learning that.
Use VS Code as the editor, learn the basics of Git and how to use branches, and a database, Postgres, and the core of the language.
I would look at Python as on the job boards they usually just ask for Python and any database.
Don't get bogged down with data structures. Just learn how to use lists inside out and then move on to dictionaries (aka hash maps, associative arrays).
It's important to actually write code. All programs are just basics like loops, input output (files, tables from a database, and network programming is the same, read/write to a socket, either client or server).
Shame, I could teach anyone, in 1 or 2 months not only how to program but basic networking config and troubleshooting and Linux too along with databases.
I don't know why anyone bothers with University 3/4 year courses, what a ripoff it is.
