I think it's possible. China easily bans Chinktok for their own citizens and has an alternate version of it that is positive and helpful for them. It's easy to imagine that strict, theocracies would do the same for apps that are deemed "harmful to society."

Yeah China is kind of based in some ways like that but I don't see dating apps getting banned in the west at least for a very long time, even then online dating will always be a thing in some form but it still could help to ban dating apps.

Dating apps won't be banned because it would infringe upon people's freedoms and rights. At least, that's how the argument would go anyway.
