Everyday I do cardio. I do fast walking on the treadmill at anywhere from 5.5 km/hr to 5.7 km/hr (3.4 mph to 3.6 mph) at 1% to 2% incline for 45 minutes excluding 10 to 15 minutes of warm up walking time. I usually cover 4 to 4.5 km distance daily.

Yesterday I did 6 km/hr (3.73 mph) at 1% incline for 45 minutes and I was overjoyed because I didn't think I had it in me. I was looking to replicate that today but failed. I realized that last night's cardio had taken too much out of me. I could only do 23 minutes at 6 km/hr after which I had to quit because my skin muscles were screaming out in pain begging me to stop.

My ultimate cardio goal is to be able to develop the endurance and stamina needed to run 5ks daily within 45 minutes.

sounds like you ain't getting enough rest, you shouldn't push yourself everyday. Running 5ks daily would be taxing to the body. You need to give your body time to adapt. You should at max run 4 times a week.

also i cheaped out on my treadmill it only goes 6mph is that enough to gain stamina and improve my heart function??

I ran over 26 miles after training when I never exercised in my life before.
Mogs me to hell and back.
I found that running outside is much easier than treadmill though because treadmills are torture.
Why is that?

6 mph is a lot! Its definitely enough to improve your stamina and cardio.

also not all treadmills are made the same. Never use those belt treadmills, they're unnatural and worse for your joints and running gait than just running outside. Always use the slatted ones, preferably the curved slat treadmills. You're better off just running outside and it's easier too than the shitty treadmills.

you'll be ok, average is around 22 mins if you're a 20-30 year old and it's not too far off, any type of cardio is good for the heart so if you only care about healthmaxx its good

I prefer the belt motorized treadmills because they pace you rather than you having to pace yourself on the curved non-motorized treadmill.
 
i hate being on a treadmill so i just use the bike
 
I had to do my easy run today on the treamill,it was storming outside.
I ran at 7:30 min/mile pace.
I hate the gym, and try to run outside as much as possible.

Cardio progress will happen really really fast if you keep increasing your intensity, you can reach your goal in like 2-3 months
