It’s extremely obvious that furries are weird people. A cursory look at their conventions should prove that beyond a doubt.

A funny video about specific individual furries is only anecdotal evidence, however. To quantify how gross they are as a group data is needed. Conveniently, furries themselves have provided this data with dozens of surveys, most with thousands of participants.

The most recent estimate1 puts the current number of furries at somewhere between 100,000 and 1 million, so all the surveys with 1,000+ participants are representative enough to give a good picture of the furry community as a whole.2 The most representative data we have is two surveys from 2008 and 2009 that included what would’ve probably been almost 10% of furries at the time. This data shows that a significant portion of the furry community are open zoophiles, or people who are sexually attracted to animals. The 2008 survey3 of 7,024 furries found that 18.39% of the participants identified as zoophiles. The 2009 survey4 found that of the 9,024 participants 13.85% identified as zoophiles. A 2018 paper5 surveying 334 furries found that 46.71% of participants rated themselves on a scale of 1-10 as being at least somewhat sexually attracted to real animals, with well over 14% rating themselves as a 6 or higher, confirming the results of the previous surveys.

A horrifying case study into what some of these zoophile furries get up to can be found in the tale of the prominent furry Joshua Hoffman, who went online under the pseudonym “Kero the Wolf”. While actively participating in a Telegram group full of other zoophiles, Kero and some of his friends sexually abused his pet dog for years and even had sex with roadkill.67 Many members of the group participated in similar activities and all members encouraged each other in this behavior.

The 2018 paper also showed that 92.51% of participants were at least somewhat sexually aroused by the idea of being an anthropomorphic animal and that 44.31% of furries were at least somewhat sexually aroused by the idea of being a real animal. It also found that 99% had “some degree of sexual motivation for being furries” and that

“Of the 211 participants who indicated that their primary motivation for being furries was not sexual and who provided open-ended responses explaining their reasons, 34 (16.1%) confrmed that it was in fact primarily sexual (e.g., ‘It is primarily sexual,’ ‘It pretty much just is sexually motivated’)”

A small minority of furries take this fetish so far that they modify their actual bodies,8 eventually looking something like this.

Much more common than the body modifiers are the furries who dress up in animal costumes. A summer 2011 survey9 of 1,761 furries found that 50% of participants wanted to own a fursuit and that another 25% already owned a partial fursuit. A later 2018 survey10 of 1,400 furries found that that number had grown to 45.8%. Keep in mind that over half of the people wearing these costumes are aroused by doing so. The 2018 paper found that slightly over 50% of participants had some sexual interest in fursuiting. Given the much higher number of participants who said they were aroused by the idea of being an anthropomorphic animal, the true number of fursuiters who get off to wearing their costumes is probably actually much higher than 50%.

The 2008 survey showed that 9% of participants identified as plushophiles and the 2009 survey showed that 7.88% of participants identified as plushophiles. According to Wikipedia

“Plushophilia … is a paraphilia involving stuffed toy animals ... Many plushophiles modify their plushies with a hole or holes reminiscent of those found in sex toys, to allow them to sexually interact with their plushies.”.11
Many plushophiles even go as far as to attach dildos to their stuffed animals.12

Not surprisingly, furries have an extremely large overlap with the lgbt community. A 1998 survey13 of 360 furries found that 67% of the participants were lgbt. The 2008 survey found that 57.18% of participants identified as lgbt. The 2009 survey found that 65.94% of participants identified as lgbt. A winter 2011 survey14 of 4,338 furries found that 58.7% of participants were lgbt and 13.4% did not identify as exclusively heterosexual. The survey also showed that 18.9% of furries often identified with a fursona (furry persona) that was the opposite of their biological sex. This could suggest a disproportionately high level of gender dysphoria among furries. Further supporting this is the fact that the summer 2011 survey found that 5.1% of participants chose a fursona of the opposite sex all of the time, 33% of participants often chose a fursona of the opposite sex some of the time, and "while more than 80% of the furry sample reported being biologically male, only about 45% of the sample identified with the male gender".

A 2014 survey15 of 1,059 furries found that about 38.5% of furry participants were lgbt and that only about 20% of furry participants identified as exclusively heterosexual. A 2017 survey16 of 1,042 furries found that 25.8% of participants did not identify with their biological gender (transgender, nonbinary, ect). The survey does not give exact figures for the number of homosexual or bisexual furries but it does include this note from the authors:

"Given that only about 20-30% of furries self-identify as exclusively or predominantly heterosexual, it may be possible that they construe themselves as a minority within the furry fandom (in fact, this is not the case, as they still make up the single-largest sexual orientation group within the fandom). Nevertheless, anecdotal evidence suggests that some heterosexual furries may feel stigmatized or ostracized within the furry fandom as a result of this minority status."
The 2018 paper found that only 15.9% of participants identified as heterosexual. The 2018 survey found that 14.8% of participants did not identify with their biological gender and that only 20% of participants identified as heterosexual. The authors of the survey pointed out that

“Unlike past years, however, instead of asking participants to indicate their sexual orientation on a traditional Kinsey scale ranging from exclusively heterosexual to exclusively homosexual, we took a simpler, categorical approach, giving participants several options to choose from. The result of assessing sexual orientation this way was illuminating. In previous years, using the Kinsey scale, heterosexuality, while never a majority, was always the most commonly chosen option. Assessed using labels, however, bisexuality emerged as the most frequent sexual orientation, with only about 20% of furries self-identifying as heterosexual.”
This suggests that most of the participants in the previous surveys who identified as not exclusively heterosexual should actually be classified as lgbt and that bisexuals, not heterosexuals, make up the plurality of furries. The 2018 paper found that 84% of furries had non-heterosexual identities. All of the surveys17 conducted over 2019 gave a nearly identical number. A 2020 survey18 of 559 furries found that only 10.1% of participants identified as heterosexual. These surveys, while having a lower sample size, only serve to confirm the results of the older surveys.

Further proof of the high prevalence of lgbt people among furries comes from subreddit statistics. Members of the 341k member r/furry subreddit are almost 13 times more likely than the average reddit user to use r/gay, almost 11 times more likely to use r/femboy, almost 11 times more likely to use r/bisexualteens, 10 times more likely to use r/lgbt, almost 10 times more likely to use the transgender grooming subreddit r/egg_irl, 9 times more likely to use r/asexuality, almost 8 times more likely to use r/gay_irl, 7 times more likely to use r/bi_irl, almost 5 times more likely to use r/asktransgender, almost 5 times more likely to use r/trans, 4 times more likely to use r/ftm, and 4 times more likely to use r/actuallesbians.19

A similar situation is found with the 227k member subreddit r/furry_irl. Members of this subreddit are almost 16 times more likely than the average reddit user to use r/gay_irl, 15 times more likely to use r/bi_irl, 14 times more likely to use r/egg_irl, almost 12 times more likely to use r/bisexualteens, almost 11 times more likely to use r/aaaaaaacccccccce, almost 10 times more likely to use r/gay, almost 10 times more likely to use r/suddenlygay, 9 times more likely to use r/traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns, 6 times more likely to use r/lgbt, 6 times more likely to use r/femboy, almost 6 times more likely to use r/asexuality, 5 times more likely to use r/actuallesbians, 4 times more likely to use r/mtf, 4 times more likely to use r/trans, almost 4 times more likely to use r/nonbinary, 3 times more likely to use r/gaybros, and 3 times more likely to use r/bisexual.20

Members of the 420k member r/yiff subreddit (yiff being slang for furry pornography), are 13 times more likely than the average reddit user to use r/bisexualteens. This is very disturbing because it shows that furries are actively sharing their pornography with minors on a large scale. To what degree they are aware these people are minors is unknowable, however. Members of r/yiff are also 9 times more likely to browse r/femboy, 8 times more likely to browse r/femboys, almost 7 times more likely to use r/egg_irl, 6 times more likely to use r/boypussy, 6 times more likely to use r/sissies, 4 times more likely to use r/traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns, almost 4 times more likely to use r/trans, 3 times more likely to use r/gay, 3 times more likely to use r/traps, and 2 times more likely to use r/lgbt.21

Even under the highest estimates, less than 10% of the general population is lgbt. There is clearly an astronomical overrepresentation of lgbt people among furries. A 2019 report22 from the CDC showed that gay and bisexual men accounted for 47% of all syphilis cases, that 44% of gay and bisexual mean with syphilis also had HIV, and that gonorrhea rates were 42X higher among gay and bisexual men than among heterosexuals. Given the rates of STDs among homosexuals and bisexuals, and given the drastic overrepresentation of homosexuals and bisexuals among furries, it seems reasonable to conclude that furries likely have drastically higher STD rates than the general population.

A 2015 survey23 of 245 furries found that about 30% of participants had a cognitive or mental health disorder. The 2018 survey showed that 11.7% of participants had been diagnosed with autism. The subreddit statistics show that members of r/furry and r/furry_irl are about two times more likely than the average redditor to use r/autism. The 2014 survey showed that the average furry became a furry when they were still a teenager. The summer 2011 survey found that participants rated the internet as the most important factor in their becoming furries, and that the majority of their interactions with other furries were over the internet. 58.26% of respondents in the 2009 survey reported that they talked to other furries online daily, and 15.7% reported talking to other furries online weekly. The 2018 paper found similar results, stating "most furries primarily interact with each other online rather than in person". Taken together all these statistics paint a concerning picture; mentally vulnerable young people interacting with strangers over the internet on a regular basis, in a highly sexual fandom filled with homosexuals and bisexuals (groups known for molesting minors at a highly disproportionate rate).242526 Although there is little direct proof, all these facts together strongly suggest that grooming may be quite prevalent within the furry community.

The 2017 survey found that 5.9% of participants had a babyfur fetish, the 2018 survey found that 6% of participants had a babyfur fetish, the 2019 surveys found that 8.1% of participants had a babyfur fetish, and the 2020 survey found that 7.1% of participants had a babyfur fetish. These so-called babyfurs engage in sexual activities where they act out the role of an infant or a toddler while their partner does sexual acts to them. Some, called “diaperfurs”, even go as far as wearing diapers 24/7. It is reasonable to conclude that a high number of the furries participating in this fetish have pedophilic tendencies.

The furry community is packed to the gills with sexual immorality. These reprobates freely interact with minors within the community and encourage them down a path of damnation. Keep these freaks away from your children.

Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body

All furries seem to be fucking rich since they can afford a fursuit that costs thousands of dollars, a shitton of art comissions (range from $50 to $200 usually), conventions all over the country (convention ticket + plane ticket + hotel isn't cheap), merchandise, etc.
