I find it too draining. I would like to see if someone has made it into 3D though. I would like to see what some of the places are supposed to look like.

I got half way through.

The fun of Zelda 1 in my opinion is that it's kind of easy not to get hit.

I prefer the original, and I prefer skyward sword to the original. Old video games usually aren't as good.
 
NES games were always insensibly difficult. Except for Super Mario Bros. 3.
 
I heard that game is notoriously challenging, unfair at times.
 
If I really wanted to, I could grind for experience points, stock up on one ups (life mirrors), then set an in game Nintendo Wii U virtual console save point outside of Death Mountain. But to me, the whole fun of Zelda NES Genre is shooting the magic swords. In Zelda 2 it's so much easier to get hit, and so much harder to restore hearts, compared to Zelda 1.

Besides; Some of the mobs in Zelda 2 don't even take damage from the magic swords.
