Why are people unironically this brain-damaged? If America refuses to fight a proper war, it doesn't mean that a proper war is impossible. These insurgencies only ever existed because the Americans refused to kill its enemies and sell women as slaves. The Germans and the Japs were dealing with insurgencies perfectly fine - look at Poland or Manchuria.
