I hate eighties video game music

It's kind of interesting I think because in the '70s it was basically beeps and boops, lol

In the '80s you started to get sound chips that could do synths, like this one.

In the '90s, you started to get CD audio.

It's personal preference for sure. I think the Mega Drive, PC Engine, Commodore 64, Amiga 500 and OPL 2 PC chips all sound REALLY good.

Oh darn wow apparently OPM was a really good and popular sound chip too but used mainly in arcade machine hardware.
