Westerners are just greedy very often and are enslaved by their huge material needs. Trying to buy fake love with status also has a big place in it. I drive over 30 year old car and I'm happy with it, my pc is a cheap used one and it's fine, it has ssd, enough ram and over 3ghz cpu.

Lifestyle creep and increasing urbanization. Also, most Americans are too dumb to conceptualize purchasing power, so they think if they make twice as much living on the coasts, they’re rich, not accounting for everything being twice as expensive in coastal states.
If someone is single and can’t live on a six figure salary, he or she is straight up retarded and is probably only making that much because of seniority and inflation. Maybe it’s rough for families, but I doubt people complaining about lifestyle creep have families, or else they’d learn responsibility.

100,000 a year is more than adequate...its just that a lot of Americans love to splurge on non-essential shit, such as all the streaming services, games, and monthly payments because a lot of people think having a car that's over 5 years old is a sign of loserdom.

If you cant live on $100k youre absolutely retarded. But it is expensive af to live in some states. I make $24/hr and when i was younger that would be a good wage, but i cant afford my own apartment with that pay now
