In Western Ukraine, members of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army during WW2 and after the war fought against Poles, Reds and Germans ( on a small scale ).
Poles terrorize Ukrainian population and rape ( at 1.05 ) Ukrainian females.
The movie is based on real story ( is it real? @WorthlessSlavicShit ). In May 30 1947, hundreds of members of UPA were given order to move to the West.
After being surrounded by Poles, 97 insurgents managed to break through and crossed Czechoslovakian border.
Many insurgents died during clash with Chechoslovakians who used more than 4.000 soldiers and 7 war planes ( July 1947 ).
At the end of the summer group of insurgents crossed Austrian border and in reached West Germany in September 1947.

Polish government did mistreat and try to assimulate the Ukrainian minority by force which was bad, but the UPA were scum, they killed civillians who had nothing to do with their government's policies.

Pilsudski was also pretty liberal, Polish nationalists disliked Pilsudski, since he supported a multi ethnic Poland.

UPA also collabarated with The Nazis which was cucked, imagine allying with the people who wanted to wipe you out.

I hate the 'mainstream' ( accepted by majority ) views that, for example, Armija Krajowa or Soviet partisans were 'le good', while UPA bad.

I'm not specialist in torture methods of UPA but haven't the Cossack rebels in the past also committed horrible crimes?
But in the Soviet historiography they are probably 'freedom fighters'.
