Someone said ableism doesn’t exist and I responded with ‘Raping women doesn’t exist either’.
The dictionary here gives a shit example, it’s men with autism that suffer from ableism and are seen as ‘creepy’ while women with autism are praised and are seen as ‘quirky and cute’.
Abliesm doesn’t have to be discrimination against physically disadvantaged people either. Discrimination against those with mental disabilities counts as ableism too but yes, discrimination against those with physical disabilities is also ableism of course.
