One big assumption I see normies writing about with AI, is they assume the AI will stay the same as now. What if it gets 1,000 times smarter in the next 5-10 years. The truly revolutionary potential of AI is shown by this idea. What happens when you get AI way smarter than humans, and you use that AI to work on making more advanced AI's.
Another thing is the scalability and how fast AI can work on research. We could scale it to like 100 million computers. And have it working night and day. It can potentially not just be smarter than humans, but work extremely fast too.
Yet another advantage is when one computer learns something, it can be shared with all the computers. Its like a new AI computer comes off the assembly line. Then we upload it with all the knowledge it needs to get going. Compare that to training humans k-12, then 4-8 years in university, then learning on the job.
