Classical conservatism is not compatible with socialism. Because it believes in a transcendent, enduring order of natural law concerning an absolute and objective ethics and morality, the right to own private property, and the belief that the state must maintain law and order at all costs, therefore social revolution is opposed and incremental social reformism preferred.
Modern conservatism is not compatible with socialism, either. Because it believes in classical liberalism, a philosophy of capitalism, individualism, and democracy, combined with patriotism or nationalism and Judaeo-Christian ethics and values.
