If there were ways to keep kids from accessing the internet as much as they do. I'd be all for it. I think anyone born before 2000 would. If you think about it realistically. The internet is a place of full exposure to anything and cannot be regulated properly.
Is it something I concern myself about much? No. My life is fucking over, I have worse things to worry about than what society wants to do to fuck itself over... But do I recognize that it's a horrible idea to let kids who are more tech literate than their parents have free reign on the internet? Yes of course.
It's a dilemma to parents sadly. Because you can't just expect your kid to have no internet access if you don't know how to restrict it yourself. They'd become the laughing stock of the school. But you also don't need kids seeing stupid shit that they don't need to be exposed to.
The internet itself also shouldn't be expected to cater itself to the fact that kids might come across it. That's a slippery slope. I don't have the answers to this problem, and I'd be surprised if there were any viable ones. But I'm sure most people can agree that kids shouldn't be around certain content.
The problem is that restricting anything online, and IRL for that matter, in a way that would just push kids, and most adults, into using methods that completely undermine the initial incentive for restricting it in the first place, just pushes them into places where worse shit is available because people selling that shit are always there.
Make a black market for anything, like alcohol as has been tried a century ago, and harm skyrockets. Exposure to more harmful things skyrockets. By doing this, the governments are just funding fucking nonce rings... Oh wait... Maybe that's their incentive tbh. No shortage of pedophile cunts in the government. Dirty bastards.

Kids are also more curious and inquisitive than some average 23 year old. Every younger generation ends up knowing more about current tech than their parents.
