Over the last few weeks Russia has been mass using drones and missiles to attack Ukraine's civilian infrastructure. And now millions and millions of Ukrainians are without power and water. In some areas the power won't be back on anytime soon, as Russia is nearby and keeps hitting the electrical grid after repairs are made. So millions more Ukrainians are moving to the West, probably for the rest of the war which could go on for years.

Right now Ukraine is this monster mud fields so neither army can really launch offensives probably until mid-February when the ground freezes over and they can drive around. Russia has its first wave of mobilized troops 360,000 of them in training now, which the training takes 3 months so they can be sent in in January. Probably then in January Russia will do the 2nd round of mobilization of at least another 360,000 soldiers, as the 1st wave leaves the training grounds.

Haha, feed them, westerners, crash your economy even more

All you had to do is to lift the damn sanctions, Biden!

Are you Russian, Russian-born or Russian descent that you're coping so hard with this war which almost no one cares right now (excluding some governmens which has businesses). It's typical war for exhausting, Kyiv hasn't fallen within 3 days and probably won't fall within 3 years. Unless Putin will use nukes, but that will mean WW3 which most people would like to avoid.

Russians do not care abt the war too

Thanks for information, in Poland only government which has interests in Ukraine cares about this war, perhaps most altruistic Poles care about, but there are no effects here, perhaps some prices has risen and Ukrainians flooded the biggest cities, especially my Wrocław.

For American normies they were following the war for the first 2 weeks, but that is too long for their attention spans so they lost interest. They more like American Idol, sports, celebrity sex scandals, etc. So now the US rulers can pass like $billions and billions in spending for the war, and the normies don't even know or care anymore.

Probably WWII was the same.. it was interesting to normies for the first couple weeks, then they lost interest. What made normies and foids more into Covid is they had to remember to do rituals, they are scared shitless of getting sick for them and their families, peoples businesses were getting shut down so money on the line.

The war is something abstract and far away.

Tbh I don't know what impact has Russian-Ukrainia war in US (perhaps there is a slight inflation increase), in Poland TV and newspapers everyday inform about war situation, but as long as Poles won't feel that war on their own skin, they won't be care about this war. Ukraine has many suppliers from NATO, Russia is partly self-sufficient and has some supplies from China and Iran. This war will be similar to Crimea and Donbass conflict but on the whole Ukrainian-Russian border.

Ya exactly. Say the US spends $100 billion in 2023 on the war. Its just not much money for the US, the federal budget is already more than $5 trillion. So instead of a $1.3 trillion deficit, maybe we run a $1.4 trillion deficit. And a lot of the spending is in the US with the weapons manufacturers and defense contractors.

And we are used to this, we were spending $100 billion a year in Afghanistan, and another $100 billion a year in Iraq. So its just the new project for the defense industry. Probably this Ukraine war spending will go to $250-350 billion a year, and at that point there will be some political opposition to spending more.

I think by late 2023 or early 2024 the West is going to send in a lot more Polish soldiers, and Poland might even get pulled directly into the war. But even then Poles won't be that interested unless it directly effects them. Like if missiles were hitting their city, then they would be totally into the drama.

The West is so flooded with refugees, nobody even notices another wave anymore.

The West is also dealing with some economic problems.

Something is bound to burst.
