That's a freak way of seeing reality. We are, even above matter, INFORMATION. CONCEPTS. Values are concepts existing in reality which are incarnated through a subject's nature. Intelligent life is just the universe being self-aware of all its pool of values and incarnating them. People's values in politics or whatever they find important are low level reflections of higher-level phenomena, for example: there's a connection between the concepts 'stagnation' both in the physical way in which subjects produce no exceeding energy and the political way through domestication, complexity, corruption, etc. All practices and beliefs that result in zero-energy scenarios, decay.
