Why nerdy things aren't respected?

One of reasons can be because they aren't risky but not everything 'cool' or thuggy is risky too.
If you are a street thief you can choose victims who looks weaker or significantly older than you. The only thing which is risky is that you can be caught by police.
But it's seems that thugs or 'cool' normies get instant respect while nerds are seen as pathetic.
Nerdy things like learning foreign language can be quite hard especially if language itself is hard.
But people usually aren't impressed by such achievements and females disdain nerdy things.
Why is that?

Good question. Maybe our stupid cavemen brains can’t process nerdy things. When someone has a great physique and can fight, we respect it, because we think that he can protect people and hunt animals.

But being good at maths? At meant nothing in cavemen times. It’s much more useful in our modern society, but it doesn’t trigger our instincts to respect a mathematician.
