This is not a 6 year old child, this is a man who is 20 years old but suffers from disease which made him stop growing at the age of 6, resulting in him being stuck at the height of 3ft for his whole life.
When he says that he can still hear, see and has emotions just like any other human-being (despite being small), it may seem like he is simply stating the obvious, but the reason that what he is saying has significance is because this world doesn’t even see him as a human being just because of his illness, so they disregard his feelings and emotions when they treat him like shit, due to which He has to remind them of the obvious fact that even though his consciousness may have happened to be placed inside a deformed/disabled body due to factors out of his control (genetics), the consciousness itself is still a human consciousness, so he is making people aware not to judge the person by their body, because you are NOT your body, you are your consciousness
your body is just the “physical vessel” that your consciousness inhabits, but the body isn’t actually YOU, the consciousness inside the body is the real YOU. This hobbit is simply reminding society of this reality
