Tbh I watched Stalker long ago and that shit was boring af and ununderstandable unless you read an essay on the film's meaning afterwards. The first 50 minutes were okay creating all that expectation about "the zone" but the rest of the movie was just three guys rambling and talking about philosophy or the meaning of life. And apparently Stalker is one of the "easiest" Tarkovsky movies and the rest of his philmography is even slower and more philosophical. Am I low IQ or his movies are overrated by film critics/students and hipsters who try to look smart? This is how I imagine Tarkovsky fans kek:
