Religion is opposite of cope. It makes reality harder to accept. Why would an omnipotent deity who told us all to reproduce and find a companion allow incels to exist

Depends on the person/religion.

When I was religious everything in life seemed easier because "God is in control". Also because the many stories of suffering, pain and fight in Bible inspired me to keeping following God, because he knows everything, he owns everything, etc.

So religions indeed serves as a cope, especially if you have a very hard life.
