A lot of the male authors who make video game babes and/or doujinshi for example aren’t Chads, they were never good with women so retreated to fantasy to fill the void as best they could — I feel better watching/reading them since if I go on PornHub or god forbid sub to something as cucked as OnlyFans for example I’m paying the whores in a round about way even if it’s not directly — I’d rather give the traffic to Hentai/Dounjin to support those mostly male author’s personally. I don’t ever want to pay women for sex.

Manga/Doujin industry is probably one of the most gender equal industries on the planet.
The difference is Japan knows to choose a target audience and pander to it. The west tries to dip into every market at once, even ones with contradictory desires (i.e. sex positive vs sex negative feminists )
