I don't know all the details (plus it was a long time ago), but I remember he spent a day in jail while cops were investigating what happened. They let him go when they realized it was a hooker, the gun was legal and there was no hostage situation whatsoever. I think they charged him with some crap like indecency or something along those lines and he had to show up in court and pay a hefty fine, but at least he stayed free.
