I believed in global warming for years, because I figured no way "97% of scientists" could be so wrong, but we were already supposed to have no more ice caps, and over time I've come to realize that "scientists" are about the same as the population at large, that is mostly dumb and prone to groupthink, bias, and emotional influence. The rhetoric keeps getting more and more apocalyptic and if we'd just sign away political soverignty and give trillions of dollars to the annointed we can be saved! It just stinks, honestly. Global warming hysteria is overshadowing more real and immediate environmental problems.

This is important, the 97% of the figure is just every scientist under the sun. The problem is that scientists aren't like TV scientists who are masters of dozens of different fields of science, a professional scientist only knows ONE single area and is largely clueless about everything else. Its simply not possible to be at the top of multiple fields.

Out of the pool of climate scientists that exist, there is so much pressure to conform to an agenda that there is no breathing room for anything else - and this is exactly what happened with genetics in the last 5 decades. Genetics has proven the concept of race, that some races are less intelligent, that genes correlate to low IQ and criminality etc, but professional geneticists still refuse to admit any of it in public.
