The invasion of Gaza was initially planned for the weekend, but was delayed by a few days at least in part because of cloudy conditions that would have made it harder for Israeli pilots and drone operators to provide ground forces with air cover, the officers said. - NYT

Assuming the Gazans have substantial weaponry and are willing to fight it out.. invading an urban area of 2 million people is a long process. If Gaza can be resupplied with weaponry and reinforced with Jihadis, it will take a long time like easily over a year to break it.
Its just really difficult in this day and age with all the reinforced concrete buildings and underground tunnels. Armies face snipers, RPG's, AK-47's, mortars.
What if Gaza can't be resupplied with a lot of weaponry.. then the Israelis can break it with siege warfare, just wear out their supplies.
