The American Empire is a new Rome centered around the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico, similar to how the Mediterranean was to Rome. American dualism consists of both English and Spanish culture and language in the north and south of the empire respectively, similar to Greek and Roman in the east and west of the Roman Empire. New Orleans is made the capital, since its position at the estuary of the Mississippi on the Gulf of Mexico unites both halves of the empire. Quebec is a margraviate, but the margrave has to go to New Orleans at the coronation of new emperors to swear fealty to him. The emperor will be Catholic and the pope will attend his coronations, but he will also be the official head of the Protestant church of America, similar to how the Saxon king was the Catholic head of the state Protestant church.
