Feminism hasn't made women happy, but it has made men unhappy.
Neither (most) men nor women really want "gender equality". The other day, a feminist sociologist wrote an article for the Atlantic, saying that
"If You Want a Marriage of Equals, Then Date as Equals
Heterosexual women of a progressive bent often say they want equal partnerships with men. But dating is a different story entirely. The women I interviewed for a research project and book expected men to ask for, plan, and pay for dates; initiate sex; confirm the exclusivity of a relationship; and propose marriage. After setting all of those precedents, these women then wanted a marriage in which they shared the financial responsibilities, housework, and child care relatively equally. Almost none of my interviewees saw these dating practices as a threat to their feminist credentials or to their desire for egalitarian marriages. But they were wrong."

From an egalitarian perspective, this obviously makes sense: "if you want a marriage of equals, then date as equals." Just saw this on reddit. But except for a minority of men who have alternative fetishes and preferences, do most men and all women NOT want "gender equality". It's just that some are honest about it and some aren't. The only ones who want gender equality are the capitalists in whose class interest it is to turn ALL of us into genderless, raceless, cultureless, nationless, homeless human robots with a buzzcut. A genderless working nomad they can use and dispose of. The capitalists are now so powerful that they do not need the nation state anymore, they do not need religious conflict anymore, they do not need genders anymore, they just want to turn us all into genderless human cattle and livestock. Like in a dystopian movie where except for the rich ruling class all are "equal" and wearing the same blue overall and have the same buzzcut and are all sexless, a one-world religion for a one-world race and a uni-gender.
But deep down inside no one really wants that. "Equality" hasn't made women happy, but it has made men unhappy.
This is why "enlightened centrist" types who think that incels are just as bad "femcels" and feminists are so pathetic. The egalitarian antifeminism you see on reddit these days (after the right-wing antifeminism has mostly been banned) always comes down to "I want REAL equality instead of feminism; feminism is not REALLY for REAL equality." And that's just pathetic. This isn't even a political question, this is just about reason and human nature, independent of all of your other positions regarding religion, culture, abortion, homosexuality, economy, etc. No matter your stance on these issues, no one really wants "gender equality" - it doesn't make women happy but it makes men unhappy.

Why are many dating practices a throwback to an earlier era?
