I know there are gonna people who immediately disagree based on the title but hear me out. If you have a daughter (especially in ancient times) you essentially have a lottery ticket. Your child has an inherent worth they wouldn't have if they were born male. Your job as a parent is to make sure she marries the richest and most powerful man she can so not only for her to be set for life but also you and your wife and the rest of the family. This how wealth use to spread within communities, the man effectively buys the woman from her father and the womans whole family would benefit from the mans resources.
That's the only thing you have to worry about with a daughter (besides making sure she's a virgin until then,) l. With a son on the other hand you have a laundry list of shit he needs to be taught. He needs to be educated, know how to fight, he resourceful and learn how to gain resources (earn money), ect.
