I'm familiar with lots of fringe movements and controversial groups. Over the last five years, I've been a member of White Nationalism, National-Socialism, American Conservatism, Christian Identitarianism, European Paganism, Atheism, Men Going Their Own Way, Libertarianism, Minarchism, Anti-Zionism, and, finally, the Blackpill.

Without exception, all of those groups had members who suffered from, what I call, the Ultimate Truth Syndrome. They were unwilling to learn anything that goes beyond their limited worldview. In other words, they transcended a bubble and got stuck in another one.

As a case in point, White Nationalists: brilliantly pointing out the biological differences between the races and dismantling the egalitarian arguments of the social constructionists. But then something funny would happen: many of them freaked out when someone brought up the biological differences between the sexes.

You expect such an open-minded and well-read group of individuals to engage in intellectually honest conversations about the issue, but all they can do is resort to emotional appeals, strawman arguments, and personal attacks. Just like the very normies they tend to criticize do.

Ironically, I had a similar experience with Men Going Their Own Way, the most popular Redpill community. They would relentlessly cite the scientific evidence behind women's lower intelligence, hypergamy, dual mating strategy, neuroticism, and so on. But then, the second race realists argued there is also scientific evidence to support the existence of human races, the whole community chimped out.

This goes to show that people are more or less normies of their own bubbles. They believe there is nothing more to learn besides what has been presented to them. They reached the Ultimate Truth—races are unequal, Jews are destroying Western civilization, women are inferior to men, physical attractiveness impacts all aspects of life, Marxism harms nations, and so forth—and there is nothing else to learn out there. Anything besides their worldview is meaningless because only they know what's right.

With that being said, we are delusional to think we are much different from normies. They have their bubbles; we have ours. You have probably encountered some examples of blackpilled folks who act exactly like the typical normies of society. In fact, they are not much different from normies; they just happen to be part of different bubbles.

What truly separates normies from conscious individuals is how well they can overcome cognitive dissonance. How far they can go without feeling too much pressure by the uncomfortable truths they come across along the way.

So, how much are you willing to learn?

Don't get stuck in a bubble. Even if you feel you know enough.

"Open minded" White Nationalists. That's what they like to tell themselves.

Exactly, this is why I'm against further isolating us and opening this forum up to more men, even give ascended incels a separate sub-forum. If the Blackpill becomes an ideology with set beliefs and dogmas then we can no longer evolve and we'll end up with woke levels of Victim Olympics where people just use the blackpill as some sort of astrological chart to explain why they can't get pussy.

Break the bubble.

But we all know who we discourage us from forming a coherent and ideological open movement to help lonely men:

High IQ post, definitely deserves to be pinned as "Must-read content".

i think the better way to look at this kind of differences is 'pick what works for you and leave the rest aside' - people should be allowed to make their own mistakes in life even if it's sometimes detrimental or fatal for them

It’s only the Mexican tradlarpers that are woman worshippers from what I’ve seen. The actual Hitlerite side of the online wignat community is pretty pro-patriarchy

There are a few agecucks here who can’t handle the JBpill.

Yo :feelskek: I knew of several scientific scandals, but not that one. But yeah, the state of peer reviewing is shit.

You wouldn't believe me if I told you someone extracted a few pages of Mein Kampf, edited to fit the feminist narrative, and managed to publish the "study" in a scientific journal.

This is mainly the state of the Humanities fields. 80% of scientific papers garner no citation.

By the way, if you want to know more about the sokal incident:

Are they just trying to meme at this point?

Science as a whole is pretty bad these days, tho the humanities is probably the worst. Always has been I guess. Nice to see a fellow Jonas Čeika fan btw. I'll definitely check out the video.

People naturally want to simplify complex things. Notice here, for instance, how many people will say "just be..." to simplify the complex topic of inceldom.

There's a lot of truth to pretty much all fringe movements and conspiracies, but there's also a lot of speculation and falsehoods, and like you said, people considering something to be the ultimate explanation for everything when in reality it's just another one of a myriad of factors.

100% what I meant.

Thank you for articulating it that way.

My goal for the next year is to become more articulate so I can explain something with clarity instead of stumbling on my words.

Nah you said it okay as well. I'm older than you and studied a lot of English tbh, so it's not fair to compare.

One day you'll be stronger than me if you train hard, kek.

For posterity -- Sokal's magnum bogus was not peer reviewed, thus not evincing the abysmal state of peer reviewing.

You have a STEM degree, right? How polluted/fraudulent are the STEM fields nowadays?

The blackpill is real but I think people here overstate how much it affects normies. If you’re really ugly or really good looking then of course the blackpill determines your life. The average man could benefit from having more knowledge about female nature but his life isn’t terrible just because he is sub8. Sometimes I get that impression when people here talk about the blackpill.

Currently doing a PhD in math.

I only really know math, which is very different than the other STEM disciplines, so I'll speak just to the state of mathematics.

It's definitely not "fraudulent". I don't exactly know what you mean by "polluted", but other than the decline in IQ that academia as a whole suffers from and a certain degree of dogmatism (which is probably worse outside of mathematics) I can't really think of anything that's "polluted". The main thing that bugs me is the sheer number of mistakes that I -- a nobody -- have managed to find in peer-reviewed papers, even when I was still a student. Peer reviewers only seem to find the most egregious of mistakes. They just don't spend the time necessary to ensure quality. And to be fair, the fact that peer reviewing is essentially mandatory charity doesn't help either.

And this is mathematics we're talking about -- it's about as black and white as it gets. If peer reviewers can't even distinguish black and white from each other, imagine how much worse it'll probably be with greys in the mix. Peer reviewing is a faux security that makes science seem more reliable, but is in reality almost counterproductive, as it inspires a misplaced confidence.

But, as I've said before, I'm a nobody, so take what I'm saying with a healthy dose of salt.
