I've had a similar situation in my life where I lived for a short time of period with my mom's new husband when my parents divorced and when he tried to take authority over me I got mad and said that he was a faggot and that my biological father could beat the shit out of him (which is true) to my mother. He heard me because the windows were open and got really mad then 5 months later I started living with my dad and I still am to this day. I've done it and it failed because my mom would LARP on pretending to move because of my step dad and my step dad LARPs on kicking me out but I know my mother prefers me because she always defends me everytime.

I had a dad but he would hurt me all the time even if I behaved. My mother was complacent in all this and didn't care.
So I guess it was strict in that I wasn't allowed to socialize or do anything other than isolate myself in my room, or else I was beat.
You know, now that I'm thinking about it, that explains a lot of my behavior patterns. Either way it meant I never got to experience normalcy or learn how to talk to other people.
