I generally think nurture > nature when it comes to height. The reason most young people are much taller than their parents is because of better nutrition and living conditions. My parents grew up in a socialist country, a lot of things were scarce. I was raised eating the best food and I ate regularly and I think this is the reason. Not saying it applies for 100% of the cases, but look at the Netherlands - they were the shortest Europeans 100 years ago and now they're the tallest. What changed? Living standards.

This is wrong by the way. Everyone was shorter 100 years ago, and the Dutch people were pretty average regarding height. Genetics are still the main factor for height. Dutch people are tall because of their genetics, not because of diet. The reason why we eat what we eat are genetics in the first place. Genes = all.
