I mean from a biological stand point every thing we do is because we want to reproduce. reason we get up and work is to earn enough resources to attract and prove for a mate(or at least that did work in the past), the reason we eat is the survive long enough to find a mate, reason we invent is to make the lives of our offspring better so they can live longer to find a mate.
