I'm curious because of all the normies and SJW's lately going on about it being a "racist stereotype." I'm guessing this is similar to the Speedy Gonzalez issue years ago: normies and SJW's were whining about "racism" yet the character was actually loved and really popular in Mexico. It's just projection as usual.
