I don't recommend buying anything at animecons, also some anime stores too just buy bootlegs and resell with a big markup. I don't know about dissing chinese bootlegs sellers, honestly they have the largest catalogues.

I have not ripped mine and I have a couple of 150mm bootlegs I have stuffed a 160x50mm inner pillow. They were bootlegs so I don't really care to mistreat them a bit. Should not be an issue though.

Regarding "are chinese knock offs worth it as you get more design choice".

Well as well as said problem with mine being 148cm by 46.5cm (despite it being advertised as 150cm x 50cm) upon closer inspection of the print, the design is cropped, some details are missing completely (no ribbons and other details cropped in the missing 3.5cm width). I don't want to try and stretch it over a larger body pillow as I prefer the petiteness of the character design just as she is.

The seller I bought mine from is known for taking an image off an official website and upscaling it 8 times. They "clean up" the larger parts but some smaller details just fade out to nothing.

As I said if you want advice, settle down watch and LISTEN to this guy. I ordered off the very chinese counterfeit website he said don't order from. Namely cause, like you, I was conned by a website using images stolen from legit Japanese artists.

I have to see if I can wash it off. I also checked them for size and they don't deviate much, I have 2 that are 150x50cm peach skin and the rest are 2 way 160x50cm although I have one that is bigger then that looks like 170cm long weird. The company "Anime Dakimakura Pillow (ADP)" is a counterfeit webshite and $99 for something you can get off Ebay or AliExpress for $56 ($1.99 shipping) for a 2 Way Tricot.

Here are scams and tricks ADP uses to maximise profits for overpriced bootlegs
- First they charge $99 for 2 Way Tricot for a bootleg, when you can get an official 2 Way Tricot for $69 off an official, non bootleg internet seller
- Despite being bootleggers and getting a ADP pinned warning from https://www.reddit.com/r/Dakimakuras/ google has ADP as first "dakimakura" google hit
- I tried reporting shill YouTube reviewers advertising ADP (whom get sent "review pillows and other free gifts") saying these were false advertising and bait and switch
- They claim "free shipping" but this is snail mail and not express parcel with no insurance, real tracking, care or loss in transit. At $99 ADP make serious bank on this additional postal scam (which China bulk post is probably $1.99 a parcel as per Ebay bootleggers). ADP give out fake tracking numbers to pretend its being tracked when its not.
- Quality of print is faded and blurry. Go to this video 5.29 to compare a bootleg cover with an official cover.

Get 160mm x 50 mm covers. The extra 10 mm makes a difference if you are a manlet you can wrap your legs around it. I have some official covers, but I don't even use them because I don't want to baby them. I would get a full 160mm x 50 inner though for sure, if you get any 160mmx50 or 150mmx50 they will both work with it. Frankly I like to go with the cheaper option for stuff that might get tattered.

OK bought the middle weight pillow from dakimakuri website, expensive but fuck is it good quality, soft as shit but returns to form like memory foam, got a cheap UK pillow too but waiting for covers to arrive, not as good I can tell but way cheaper.

Cover on daki is 2 way tricot & it looks & feels good but I must stress for anyone new to this, that material scratches & wears FAST so cut your nails & file down any dry/jagged skin you may have.

If you want it for the appearance just get a screenshot of the art on your computer & don't worry too much; feel it.
