Too much of anything is a bad thing. The official explanation is they put fluoride in the water supply to help with cleaning teeth but among many people that is contested.
You don't see that happening in America? People drive everywhere if they aren't in a city and not completely broke. But now they eat a lot more healthy foods and are obsessed with going to the gym. This is really clear among younger generations. The only thing that hasn't changed is they still eat large portions of food compared to what non western countries are used to eating.
