In high school and with relatives and shit, did anybody ever compliment your clothing? No they didn’t did they.
That one is obvious, but they never gave you criticism either did they.
Cause they knew no matter what you did it wouldn’t make it any better. So people just avoid the topic and avoid you.
Even as a kid in you could wear rags and no body would say anything

They never gave any specifics did they lol. Same thing with parents, would get a haircut (could still look like utter shut) but would say “don’t care as long as it gets cut. Didn’t even look at it and said “oh it looks so much better)
