So in this cinematic that was just released for League of Legends there is this character named Viego. He was a king from centuries ago who's wife died and he basically tapped into some forbidden magic to attempt resurrect her, failing in the process and causing a cataclysmic event called the ruination that killed him and turned him into a wraith as a result of his obsession that made him undying.
Even after failing and becoming a wraith, he went to go collect the shards of her soul to try to attempt her resurrection again, traveling across the world and fighting all manner of powerful people, exterminating nations and even enslaving them with his new wraith powers to obtain them all. Disregarding all morals and literally destroying the entire world because wherever he goes his ruination power spread like a viral miasma.
Then, as you can see in the cinematic, he finally finds the remaining soul fragments in those people he brings to the altar, finally succeeding resurrecting his wife.
Then what does Isolde (his wife) do? She says look at the all the evil you've done, while ironically stating that she loved him to his final breath and asks why he wasn't satisfied with that. Then she asks Akshan (the curry watching this all unfold) to kill her, resulting in Viego being sealed, probably eternally reliving that moment of ultimate cuckery.
