What Schopenhauer means here is that the facade of national pride is being based on a faulty representation of the state, while ignoring the needs of one's inner sentimentalism. National Socialism perfectly recognizes this facade under statehood, along with many other fascista movements. Their primary directives were aimed at ensuring the collective expression of one's universally applicable spirit would reveal itself and cast away the statehood prejudices that encompass it.

If it's america then obviously yea nations are pointless and nationalism is a flawed idea because america as a nation is just a political border where the people only share money.
