my opinion is that Kafka was preaching nihilism, at least to a high degree.
he basically said, if you are genetically incapable to better your life
understand it's futile and at least enjoy some rest.
it's like he said: no point to try so hard, and no point to lament not trying hard enough.
kind of like he was protesting the push for self improvement.
