Inceldom didn't rise that much with women in the work force. Or at least not as much as expected. Remember the slogans about how women could "have it all"? It all hit a speed bump once globalization of dating through the internet and smarphones came about. It's only after the internet, online dating/dating apps, social media and an outrage culture around aspects of nonchad male sexuality from identity politics (moral panics about rape on college campuses, concern about what constitutes proper consent, #metoo) that inceldom started becoming a really big problem in western countries.
Similarly it was thought in the past that instant travel allowed women to cheat more. But that didn't become really commonplace until women had the ability (through online dating/dating apps and social media) to meet with chads from farther away than their local hometown or province.
