If you haven’t maintained any friends from early childhood is it even worth it? It seems like most people are either fake or drift off in general.

Most “friends” people have would turn their backs & betray them over the smallest thing. Socializing seems to only be for maybe connections or having some temporary fun. Anyone who keeps a friend they’ve had since young childhood is very lucky tbh because it’s not that common nowadays.

I have recently reconnected with two of my "friends" from college and one from HS and childhood. But this is fleeting and only for our comfort. The definition of this word "friends" in today's terminology seems like fantasy. It doesn't exist. What you have described is more or less correct, I feel.

Even temporary fun is better to look back on than emptiness and loneliness. A life of negative experiences is better than a wasted one, because those negative experiences can be used for future bonding. There is nothing to bond over on wasted time.

Friendships are difficult I found it's best to get your relationship with God in order first and then let friendships happen ,if so fine ,if not ,your relationship God is what matters most.
