I think he knew but didn't want to try and convince the public about it, because they would think he was crazy.
The idea of "blood libel" was on people's minds and he didn't want that to stop justice, so he just focused on the economy and their promotion of porn/trans.
It's like the pedophilia of the mohel was too outrageous to discuss in polite company - it was too barbaric for the mind to comprehend, so he just left it on the table - but he and the other elite MUST have known, right?
