It's about distributions. All that is required is that for some reason w/e genetic or enviormental influence leads to a man being a homosexual also influences other trait distributions in some way.

I'm not even sure if to what extent the OP is correct about fags, I'm just generally disagreeing with your attempt to remove the focus from people's group affiliation. Knowing what group someone belongs to, be it race, sex, profession, political party, etc. carries with it enormous amounts of relevant information and ignoring it out of some misguided sense of fairness or correctness just leads to you being more wrong, more often.
Individual information is often inconclusive and vague, it's based on personal impression and intuition and trusting what the other person claims about themselfs, while a well-informed view of any subgroup of the population will be informed by statistical analysis (often originally undertaken by experts in related fields, using a representative sample.
OP is obviously not a professional and not analysising any stats, but even annecdotal observation is more reliant when you are observing many differend cases over a long period of time, noticing a pattern amongst them that remains constant, compared to a just as annecdotal personal impression of another person based on one-to-one interactions.
Lastly, you can understand what someone group memebership implies about them statistically before you ever meet them, while you only get to know someone on a personal level over time. So for most people, whom you will only encounter once or a few times & for short periods of time, knowing about their group is more useful and practical than trying to learn about them as a person.
It's also not difficult to hate a group (let say dogs or cats to keep it unemotional) and make exceptions for individual outliers when you encounter them. This is easier, more practical and gives you more a predictive world model than pretending group membership isn't highly relevant.
