Take Poland which is the one European country I know of that bans abortions, and still it has an anemic fertility rate of 1.26 in 2022 (replacement is 2.10). Since a generation is about 25 years that means the number of children will be 60% as many as earlier. Then in 50 years it will only be 36% as many as today and so on.

Could Poland just radically decline in population and stay viable. It would run into some problems. Russia is bringing in every Central Asian Muslim young adult they can find. That adds to Russia's population and even in Russia those peoples have high birth rates. To Poland's west, Germany is starting to bring in 20 year old shitskins from around the world. Culturally and economically it takes a certain population to make things viable. Yes Poland could integrate further with the EU, but that would also mean loss of Polish sovereignty and culture. Poland would most likely be amalgamated economically and culturally and linguistically into the EU.

In economy there is economies of scale. That is something that made America and the Soviet Union so strong. And why Russia is invading countries and bringing in immigrants. The Moscow state knows it needs scale if it wants to survive.

Something about the world is the state isn't the people. The Poland government is its own organization with its own self interest. Its like we know corporations they are self interested. Well churches, governments, charities, non-profits they are the same.
